Working meeting of the Governor with the Minister of agriculture
During his visiting in Moscow on the 13th of January the Governor of Smolensk region Sergey Antufiev has met with the Minister of agriculture of the RF Elena Skrynnik.
The Head of the region and the Head of the Ministry have discussed the results of work in agro industrial complex of Smolensk region including implementation of investment projects and principal approaches to the signing of the agreement on financing of the activities of the State program in 2012 between the Ministry of agriculture of the RF and the Administration of Smolensk region.
Sergey Antufiev has noted that in 2011 within the scope of program activities 2 billion rubles including 1,1 billion rubles from the regional budget were invested into the agriculture. The agricultural organizations have got 215 thousand tons of grain crops (140% to the level of 2008), 50 thousand tons of potatoes (four times more) and 9,9 thousand tons of vegetables (131%). Average crop capacity makes 20,6 hwt from one hectare (123%), potatoes - 216 hwt (160%), vegetables – 181 hwt (110%). As compared with the last year the total output of milk, meat, poultry and eggs have increased. In the near future the animal production volume will be increased at the expense of efficiency increase, investment projects implementation and additional production capacity input.
Elena Skrynnik has positively appreciated the efforts of the Administration of Smolensk region on execution of the State program of agricultural markets development in 2008-2012.
During the meeting veterinary prosperity of agro-industrial complex of Smolensk region was discussed. In particular, import of pedigree cattle from EU countries was discussed. The Minister of agriculture has stressed that nowadays the territory of the Russian Federation is problem-free, in reference to infectious diseases, for example. This tendency is to be kept.
Therefore the Minister has recommended to the Governor to undertake the regions which import the cattle from EU countries to coordinate this activity with the regional veterinary service.
At the exhibition «Green week-2012» in Berlin the agricultural inspectorate of Russia and representatives of EU will have talks as to cattle import to the territory of Russia.
