Rhenus logistic terminal is opened in Smolensk region

Near by village Krasnaya Gorka in Krasny district was held the solemn ceremony of opening of Rhenus logistic terminal.

Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy participated in this meeting as also Georg Birgelen - permanent Deputy Chief of Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Russian Federation, Vasily Knyazev – Chief of Smolensk Custom and representative of Russian and German foreign-trade Chamber.

New terminal occupies an area of 8 hectares, has storehouses with gross area of 2200 square metres and has 400 stalls for cargo transport. As a result of project realization it will be created about 400 new workplaces.

«Opening of terminal on territory of Smolensk region  is a good signal for our business partners in the  European Union like a guarantee that region can provide the passing of cargos from Europe through territory of the Russian Federation. An complex that was built by company Rhenus is the best confirmation to it. Rhenus is the biggest operator in the  European Union and that is why it is especially pleasant that in our region come not outsiders but leaders of European market», - noted Aleksey Ostrovsky in his speech.
