Working meeting with permanent Deputy Chief of Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Russian Federation

Governor Aleksey Ostrovskiy has held working meeting with Georg Birgelen - permanent Deputy Chief of Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Russian Federation. Were discussed points of the further development of cooperation between Administration of Smolensk region and business-representatives of FRG.

Smolensk region becomes more and more attractive for German companies as frontier region with advantageous geographical situation in Customs Union. On territory of Smolensk region there is federal trunk route М-1 (Moscow-Minsk). This fact creates comfortable conditions for conducting of business. And the best corroboration to this fact is opening in Krasniy disrict of Rhenus custom-logistic terminal. During conversation, Aleksey Ostrovskiy has drawn Georg Birgelen's attention to the special type of mutual relations which have formed between Smolensk business community and their partners in Germany. That will allow to conduct joint work in the future and to have more confidence relations. Administration of Smolensk region is interested in intensive contacts with investors and is ready to offer them favorable terms of cooperation.

«We are ready to give special tax remissions and preferences for the companies that want to work on territory of Smolensk region we can also grant to investors plots of land free of charge and provide underpinning of building services systems. The main thing for us is not earning on earth sale, but creation of new enterprises that will give new working places for natives of Smolensk and fill up budget with taxes», - noted the Head of the region.

From his side said Deputy Chief of Mission that Smolensk region is a perspective trend for German companies and suggested measures of State support are very interesting for investors and can be very useful for German business community.
