Start of cycle race «Youth of Russia and Belarus – way to the future of Union state»

In Smolensk started in a grand manner traditional VII cycle race «Youth of Russia and Belarus – way to the future of Union state» which is holding under patronage of Standing Committee of Union state and Administration of Smolensk region.

In the solemn ceremony of cycle race opening participated Governor Aleksey Ostrovskiy, Secretary of Union state Grigory Rapota, Deputy of State Duma of the Russian Federation, chairman of commission of Parliamentary Assembly of Union of Belarus and Russia for social policy, science, culture and humanitarian problems Anatoly Lokot', Chairman of regional Duma Anatoly Mishnev, Chief federal controller in Smolensk region Olga Okuneva and many other guests.

In his words of encouragement to participants of cycle race marked Aleksey Ostrovskiy the great importance of this action in patriotic education, formation of healthy lifestyle and youth association of two fraternal peoples.

«Exactly you – youth of two states – have to build our common future, – said the Head of the region. –There are many points that join and unit us. And I was very glad to see how Belorussian cycle race participants sang along with us Russian hymn. We would like Smolensk region would be perfect example of collaboration between Russian regions and the Republic of Belarus».

And from his side Grigory Rapota cried content with the fact that such kind of communication as international cycle race became such a serious development: «I am very glad that in cycle race participate many Russian and Belorussian young people. It is great. I believe that participation in such an arrangement will be one of the liveliest recollections for many of you. And friends whom you will find here will surely stay such lifelong.  Wish it to you sincerely ».
