Sitting of Coordination Council for border policy
Sitting of Coordination Council for border policy was held under the chairmanship of Lev Platonov – Deputy of Governor chief of staff of Administration of Smolensk region.
During this sitting was discussed a problem of perfection of coordination between law-enforcement agencies, regional executive bodies, bodies of local self-government of frontier districts of the region concerning revelation and suppression of illegitimate migration in Customs union.
In the period from January up to April of the current year were hold 51 operational preventive treatments on automobile road «Moscow-Minsk», 12 treatments – on automobile road «Moscow-Ivantsevichy». Were inspected 1986 cars and checked 15554 citizens of the foreign states, 28 administrative violations were exposed. On stations Smolensk and Vyazma were inspected 73 long-distance trains, 21930 documents of identification of foreign citizens were checked. Were exposed 14 foreigners that arrived Russia without visa. Authoritative bodies opened 107 criminal cases for illegal the Russian Federation's border crossing and two criminal cases for organization of illegal migration. Staff of migration service in interaction with others law-enforcement agencies inspected 6,2 thousands objects for four months were drown up 829 administrative offence reports for the total amount more than 9 million roubles. 102 foreigners were this year under the court decision in custody in Smolensk Regional Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for transgression of legislation of the Russian Federation, 75 people were banished from our country.
Coordination Counsel discussed reports of representatives of Agency for Federal migration service, Federal Security Service of Russia, Administration of Ministry of the Interior of Russia marked that law-enforcement agencies give a serious attention to problems of effective resistance to illegal migration. Joint operational preventive treatments are conducting, informational exchange is regulated. Frontier collaboration of applicable authorities of the Rebublic of Belarus is perfecting. Such a successful collaboration of all interested structures that proceeds gut results will continue in the future.
Members of coordination Counsel discussed the topic of effectiveness of activity of law-enforcement agencies according contraband control, communication of power-wielding structures of Russia and the Republic of Belarus according transboundary crimes suppression. This year by joining forces were cut off two canals for supply of contraband goods and narcotic drugs were withdrawn more than 740 gram narcotics. For the period from April up to May were exposed 15 criminal cases concerning illegal drug dispensing by persons crossing the border illegal were opened 11 criminal cases.
Coordination Counsel made some concrete decisions and guidelines for the purpose of improvement of the effectiveness of contraband control and struggle with the others transboundary crimes and made also some specific recommendations and decisions.
