On birth day of the great composer Michael Glinka

The solemn meeting has taken place by monument to famous musician on the day of the 208-th anniversary from the date of birth of Michael Glinka - founder of Russian classic music in the scope of the 55-th All-Russian music festival.

Deputy of Governor, Olga Vasilyeva has noted in her address to representatives of creative unions, fans and admirers of Glinka's talent that founder of national composer's style has contributed a lot to development of the Russian and world music culture.

«It is great that it managed to Michael Glinka to transform his gift that he has become since birth into brilliant music. Today we all have pleasure to listen to it thanks to music festival. This festival has become a carte-de-visite of Smolensk region», – vice governor has accentuated.

Participants of meeting have laid flowers to Glinka's monument. Audiences have had a perfect opportunity to enjoy to the full with concerted numbers of creative teams under the open sky near by the building of regional Philharmonic Society.
