Children from the CIS to visit Smolensk

Through July and August, 650 children from CIS and EU countries will visit Smolensk as part of the program of the government Compatriots Committee supported by the Ministry of Foreigh affairs of the Russian Federation and the Administration of Smolensk region.

During their educational tour “Hello, Russia!” the students who study in Russian-speaking schools, lyceums and colleges, and winners of academic olympiads will go from Moscow to Smolensk and back – a route to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Russian victory in the Patriotic war of 1812. The children will visit Krasny settlement, Talashkino, Smolensk history museum and battlefield sites.

The first delegation of 150 students from Estonia and Uzbekistan is already in town. The kids have laid flowers to the Eternal flame and paid tribute to the standard-bearer of the Great Victory Mikhail Egorov.
