The third International touristic festival «Solovyova crossing»

The third International touristic festival «Solovyova crossing» took place in Kardymovo district and was devoted to the 200-th anniversary of victory in Patriotic War against Napoleon in 1812-14. This event was visited by Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy.

More than 500 participants gathered on the right shore of Dnieper. 44 delegations came from Belarus, Latvia and Russia. Governor got to know surfacing of infrastructure development of campgrounds of districts.

Odigitria sacred procession came in village Solovyovo. Alexey Ostrovsky participated in all-night vigil before icon of the God's Mother.  

Action called «Candle» was held in remembrance of soldiers that were lost pro patria at all times. Plots with many lights were lowered in Dnieper.

The solemn ceremony of remains reinterment of 136 Soviet soldiers lost on territory of Kardymovo district during the Great Patriotic war took place in the scope of festival. Their remains were found by scouting forces during 2012. Name of ten people were established thanks to medallions and personal things.

Historic reenactment of battle on Solovyova crossing became one of most interesting events of the second festival day. About one thousand viewers came to see such a grandiose reconstruction of battle of 1941. 

Champ of battle took 60 reenactors from Moscow and Smolensk.
