More than 15 thousand people viewed Reenactment of Smolensk battle

Reenactment of battle by Lubino in Kardymovo district went on the 4 –th of August. It was the most spectacular event of memorable arrangements devoted to the victory in Patriotic war 1812.

About 1200 participants among them representatives of military history clubs from Byelorussia, Latvia, Poland and Ukraine became participants of one of the biggest reenactments in Russia.  

Horse cavalry, artillery and great many of pyrotechnics were brought into play.

More than 15 thousand natives of Smolensk and guests of the region became viewers of reenactment.

Battle by Lubino got one of the key battles of Patriotic war 1812, when the last attempt of Napoleon to be wedged between Russian armies was stopped.

Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy addressed to audiences together with Vladimir Churov – Chairman of Central Election Commission, he visited our region for the first time: «Today we will remember events which took place two hundred years ago. All facts that had place in Smolensk region can not leave someone indifferent especially people who honor our history and the memory of lost soldiers. I hope, this feast will stay in your hearts and your memory for the long time».
