Aleksey Ostrovskiy: «Natives of Smolensk must work for natives of Smolensk»

Governor Aleksey Ostrovskiy visited with working trip Pochinok district where he became familiar with some social objects and the leading agricultural business of municipal unit.

Agricultural production cooperative «Druzhba» is a very successful business according all indexes. Its planted area is about three thousand hectares and more than one third from it is intended for grain crops productivity is near 35 metric centners from hectare. Dairy and meat livestock farming is also one of guidelines for action of production cooperative. The livestock amount to1426 cattle. Following the results 2011 cooperative cleaned up at the rate of 16,5 million roubles by the level of profitability of 36,2%.

According to opinion of Vladimir Solovyov, Director of SPK «Druzhba», the teamwork of 106 specialists, investment in up-to-date technologies, appreciable variety of agricultures and certainly support of the federal and local authorities cause success of cooperative. In 2011 state backing from budgets of all levels amounted to 14,9 million roubles, for six months of the current year - 5,7 million roubles. A great success has also program of backing (at the rate of 50%) purchase of new harvesting machines.

But it is not enough to produce a quality product, it must be also realized, and it became very often the real problem for villagers. Aleksey Ostrovskiy is sure that local authorities must give comprehensive support to rich landowners in this problem. Governor reported to Director of cooperative «Druzhba» about his decision to create in Smolensk market of regional agricultural products where Smolensk manufacturers will trade on attractive terms. Regional budget will take upon itself reimbursement of expenses for lease of spaces.  Regional Administration plans also to organize such an agricultural market in Moscow region near by motor road М-1.

Following the results of his visit charged Aleksey Ostrovskiy the Department of agriculture and food supplies of Smolensk region to provide for the next year subsidies for purchasing of equipment for meat and milk processing.
