City Day in Rudnya

Last Saturday in Rudnya was festive: natives of Rudnya and numerous guests of the regional center celebrated the Day of the city.

The program of celebrations was intense and exciting. In the city center was placed farmstead of settlement of Rudnya district and visitors from the Republic of Belarus. At the Autumn Fair guests had an opportunity to purchase agricultural products from local farmers and farmers from Belarus. Alsowas organized an exhibition of agricultural machinery, where by regional agricultural enterprises were presented 44 units of equipment. Everyone could visit the cockpit of a modern combine and became familiar with its parts. One of the most significant moments of the City Day was summarizing and honoring of best workers in the most important area of the region – agriculture area.

The real gift for all became a concert prepared by members of amateur from Rudnya and Liozno districts. To the audience was presented a concert of song and dance organized by group of Frontier Service of Russia "Donskaya zastava". In public park worked children's rides and at the stadium youth teams from Rudnya and Liozno districts met in a friendly soccer match. Lev Platonov - Deputy of Governor and Igor Lyakhov – vice Governor came to send their greetings to natives of Rudnya district and wished them health and success in their workfor the benefit of Smolensk region and its further prosperity. The event participants laid flowers at the bust of Michael Egorov, mass graves and memorial of six heroic miners in the village Mikulino.
