A cooperation Agreement with the State Corporation "Rosatom" was signed
Aleksey Ostrovskiy and Sergey Kirienko signed an Agreement about cooperation between Administration of Smolensk region and State Corporation "Rosatom".
In accordance with the Agreement provides State Corporation "Rosatom" implementation of activities, investment projects and programs that allow to increase the regional budget by additional tax revenues. The mechanism of the distribution of these funds will be determined by the Administration of Smolensk region.
Sergey Kirienko appreciated during the signing ceremony efficiency of Smolensk regional authorities in the preparation of Agreement which opens up new prospects for socio-economic development of the region. This year, tax revenues from the objects of "Rosatom", located in Smolensk region will double the regional budget and amount to 1 billion 300 million rubles.
«For Smolensk region the signing of this Agreement is certainly a serious prospect of regional development and in terms of tax increases, which will allow to Administration to organize more intensive developing of the region, primarily by increasing of social responsibility of natives of Smolensk. Overall, we expect that the "Rosatom" and you personally, Sergei Vladilenovich, listen to my position, the position of the regional Administration and will make a decision on the construction of the second stage of the Smolensk nuclear power plant.», - told Aleksey Ostrovskiy during the ceremony of signing.

It is obvious that the second stage will be built; there is no doubt in it, with the new generation of reactors, with a service life of 60 to 80 years. The agreement allows us together with Administration of Smolensk region to solve not only the problem of the nuclear power plant. It is very important for us what happens in the city, where places the station, where workers live - it is also our are a of responsibility. We were able to find additional opportunities in order to increase significantly the amount of taxes that will be paid in the region.», – said Sergey Kiriyenko General Director of State Corporation "Rosatom". He also supported the initiative of Aleksei Ostrovskiy that the additional tax amount will be spent on development of Pochinok and Elnya districts and other areas that surround nuclear power plant in the Smolensk region.
