Aleksey Ostrovskiy met with mothers of famous village Shapy
Governor Aleksey Ostrovskiy visited village Shapy in Demidov district that became famousbyher mother's feat residents.
When in the beginning of the academic year 2006 in the village Shapy brought up question of closing of the local school due to the lack of sufficient number of students, teachers who had their own kids took an unusual decision - to save the institution by taking of foster children to their families.
In less than one year as their example was followed by other families of Demidov district. Since 2006 Shapy became a real home for 52 children, and the school continued its existence. Today there are 38 children, seven are visiting kindergarten and 31 children are studying at school. The rest have grown up and left their father's house and continued the further study.
Mothers from Dorogobuzh and Glinka districts are ready now to follow the example of the good initiatives mothers of Demidov district. In turn, the movement was taken under the wing by the regional public organization "Give children good" under the direction of Natalia Aksenova
In the cultural center of Village Shapy was held a touching event attended by parents and their adopted children. Children thanked parents from the scene, even if not by blood relatives, but has become home to the spiritual, affirming folk wisdom: "Parents are not the ones who have given birth, and those who have brought up." And Moms, did not hide tears, hugged children who became dear to them for real.

I understand how it is difficult to you now and I decided to provide each of your family, accepting the education of children, a hundred thousand rubles».
