At the planning meeting by the Governor

Aleksey Ostrovskiy discussed with his Deputies, Heads of the executive authorities and with Nicholas Alasheyev – the Head of Administration of Smolensk city problems of preparation of regional center to the anniversary, agricultural support, as well as work of regional authorities with  population of Smolensk region.

The meeting began with the Governor's emphasizing of the need to respond rapidly to treatment of complaints and suggestions of natives of the region. Aleksey Ostrovskiy instructed to ensure monitoring of the effectiveness of decisions made on basis of acceptance of population, emphasizing the need to improve the transparency of activities of the Administration of Smolensk region.

Aleksey Ostrovsky also commented the acquisition of stadium "Spartak" belonged to the Smolensk Regional trade union association by Company "Alpha-Trans". The head of the region noted that one of the major sporting facilities in the city will retain its full profile. Regional authorities put strict condition - the land on which the stadium placed must not under any circumstances be transferred to another category.

A number of questions were devoted to preparations to celebration of the 1150-th anniversary of regional center. Michael Pitkevich – Deputy of Governor received instruction to control on a daily basis the schedule of the construction process of commemorative items.

Anniversary preparation will also affect the Central Park of Culture and Rest "Lopatinsky garden." With help of interested investors and management of regional and local authorities rides will be replaced. With coming of winter in the central area of the regional center a skating rink will start its work - the indication given Aleksey Ostrovskiy.

 Due to the large number of positive residents in regional center will start working on a regular basis a market for agricultural products. In addition, at the request of the Governor begin works by organization of the regional agricultural market at the entrance to Moscow.

To improve the investment activity in the region ordered Aleksey Ostrovskiy to begin preparing of information materials concerning industrial, cultural and historical potential of Smolensk for subsequent presentations on federal and international events.
