In Smolensk was discussed work of the Customs Union

Field Round Table "The Customs Union: a practical dimension" organized by the Federation Council was held in Administration of Smolensk region.

The aim was to test effectiveness of legal framework of the Customs Union and development of recommendations to improve the mechanisms of interaction between the legislative and executive branches.

The Customs Union eliminated the queues at the border and led to reduction in staffing agency in Belarus by 25%, in Russia by 20%, Kazakhstan by 10% to increase in turn over and to strengthen cooperative ties. Increasing of security requirements the concerned authorities prepared a program for the development of customs administration. It involves a comprehensive transition to electronic document and is designed for the next two years.

The participants discussed the concept of customs clearance and customs control of goods in places closed to the border of Russia as well as opportunities to optimize conditions for the organization of transport and logistics industrial complex "Stabna" work session, the participants learned about before starting it.

In addition, the Administration of Smolensk region filed a petition to establish a Regional Office of Federal Supervision Agency for Customer Protection and Human Welfare due to high freight traffic passing through our region. Now place territorial agency departments responsible for veterinary and phytosanitary controls at the border in Bryansk region.

At the meeting, Sergei Borich - representative of the Group Bernard Krone said that board of directors of the German holding company decided to place the production of trailers and vehicle superstructures in Russia. He noted that there are clear arguments in favor of Smolensk region, and the possibility of locating production in the region is considered serious, but the final choice has not been made.
