Nine residents were awarded honorary with plaque of Smolensk region "Maternal Glory"

On the eve of Mother's Day greeted Governor Aleksey Ostrovskiy mothers of large families, presenting them with plaque of honor "Maternal Glory" named after Anna Timofeevny Gagarina.

Nine mothers of large families were awarded plaque for services in education of children and strengthening of family traditions.

Awarding is held in the framework of the regional law № 72-r from 28.05.2008 "On the sign of honor of the Smolensk region" Maternal Glory named after Anna Timofeevny Gagarina. At the moment Smolensk region is one of the few regions where such awards are granted to improve the status of large families. All mothers get a one-time cash award of 15,000 rubles from the regional budget.

Each year, a plaque of honor become women who are citizens of the Russian Federation permanently residing in the Smolensk region which starting from January the 1-st of 2008, gave birth (adopted in accordance with the law of children under eight years of age) and the fourth (or) subsequent children. At the moment, 111 residents of the Smolensk region awarded this plaque.
