Smolensk region invites guests
The tourist potential of Smolensk region was presented in the Central House of Journalists Union of Journalists of Russia. Event devoted to acquaintance with our region and to the prospects of its development, has gathered the mainstream media, representatives of the media covering tourism industry, information and travel agencies. Representatives of the Department of Tourism and Regional Policy of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation participated in the presentation.
Smolensk region with its history and a truly unique natural and cultural wealth is a national treasure of Russia. This was the conclusion reached at the meeting on Nikitsky Boulevard that made virtual tours for more than three hours with a genuine interest to the attractions of Smolensk, studied the subtleties of production of the famous gingerbread Vyazemskiy and atmosphere of historical reconstructions. In addition to exploring of regional center listened guests at presentation about rich history of Vyazma, Krasniy and Kardymovo districts of Smolensk region.
Participants of this event paid special attention to plans of management of Smolensk region concerning tourism development. In particular, interest of press brought intent to create in the region the cluster of automobile tourism named "Smolenskiy" and placed along federal highway M-1 "Belarus". Recall, this area of attraction of tourists was approved in the long-term regional target program "Development of domestic tourism in Smolensk region" for 2013-2015. In addition, participants of the presentation got to know the establishment of the tourist route "The old Smolensk road," which will also be submitted in electronic form on the basis of a 3D model with elements of historical reconstructions. In general, according to representatives of the Department of Smolensk region for culture and tourism, one of the most important tasks in development of tourism industry in the region is development of tourism and recreational navigation - content of tour routes.
National Park "Smolensk Lakeland" Holy Assumption Cathedral, the Smolensk fortress wall, old Smolensk estate, famous natives of Smolensk, Russian Film Festival "Golden Phoenix", the International Music Festival of Michael Glinka - all this, as reflected in the statement of Smolensk obviously delegations , is a resource for tourism development in the region. In addition, in recent years in the Smolensk all new content gets event-calendar, which is crucial for attracting of tourists.
As an example was named Kardymovo district of Smolensk region, which has an international reputation for conducting of historical reconstruction nearby Lubino and Tourism Festival on Solovyova crossing. Highlights of the district are motorcycles and autocross that held for several years at the site of active rest Kardymovo. Because of its potential for tourism Kardymovo district is already at the launch received a proposal from the international journal "Forum" for placement in the publication of materials about touristic events in the region.
At the end of the tourist presentation was coordinated participation of the Smolensk region in a number of important projects of our region. "Smolensk region will participate in a joint project of the Commission of Tourism and Hospitality Industry of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP) and the magazine" Tourism in Russia. "The project is aimed at attracting of investments in tourism sector and provision of information to support the efforts of the RSPP transformation of Russian regions in attractive tourist destinations, "- said Olga Korsak – the Head of tourism and the museum of the Department of the Smolensk region on Culture and Tourism. According to her, it is also assumed appearance of information on the investment needs of the tourism industry in the region in production of a series of catalogs "Investment in Tourism". As points of growth in the industry made by the Smolensk region already mentioned automobile tourist cluster and tourist route "Old Smolensk road."
