Aleksey Ostrovskiy acquainted with the work of the Federal Center of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Prosthetics

Governor Aleksey Ostrovskiy visited the Federal Center of Traumatology, Orthopaedics and Prosthetics, where he studied the work of the institution and used in his work with modern equipment.

Construction of the center began in 2008. During building process was used modular type of construction. In mounting position was exposed 383 medical modular units made by "Cadolto" (Germany) and the company "Prekons" (Turkey). The total project cost was $ 2.7 billion.

The center is designed to provide high-technology medical assistance on specialty "Traumatology and Orthopaedics" within the budget provisions of federal budget in the framework of state guarantees of the Russian citizens for free medical care. The design capacity of institutions established in the amount of six thousand transactions per year. Staffing of the center includes 590 positions.

Federal Medical Center includes the polyclinic, traumatology and orthopedics for 150 beds for adults and 15 beds for children, operating room, intensive care unit, radiology department, clinical diagnostic laboratories, functional diagnostics, etc.

Since August the 1-st, in an advisory clinic center began to form a database of patients to provide high-tech medical care. Since October there is outpatient care of patients to direct documents to the Department of Health of the Smolensk region for provision of high-tech medical care. From November the 15-th, high-tech surgical procedures performed on installation of artificial joints. To date, 99 patients have been operated.

Anatoly Ovsyankin chief doctor of the federal center of traumatology, orthopedics and endoprosthesis briefed Governor Alexei Ostrovsky about work agencies. At the entrance there are spacious hall with wardrobe, wide corridors with high ceilings, comfortable medical office. At reception get patients electronic medical card where are made all marks on course of the disease, procedures and the doctor's recommendations. In five operational rooms functions special climate control system, provides the best area of sterility and comfortable environment for patients and staff. Special attention is also paid to the process and post-operative rehabilitation.

The modern medical equipment used in all phases of treatment, and different rooms of the facility was demonstrated to the Head of the region.
