Heads of regional departments of Russian Emergencies Ministry in CFD summed up at a meeting in Smolensk

In Smolensk from the 11-th up to the 13-th of December was held a training for fee management team of Russian Emergencies Ministry in the Central Federal District. Summarizing of activities of executive authorities and regional bodies of EMERCOM in the subjects of district for the current year and definition of priorities for the coming year was held at the meeting in regional Administration.

The final event was attended by Michael Pitkevich - the first Deputy of Governor, Nickolas Ovsienko – Deputy of Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Central Federal District, Alexander Tchupriyan - Deputy Minister of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters and heads of territorial bodies of Russian Emergency Ministry, the committee chairmen for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations and fire safety of the subjects of CFD representatives interacting power ministries and departments.

Before the meeting, members of educational and methodical collection toured an exhibition of products of Smolensk region designed for needs of the Ministry, - exposition was launched in the lobby of regional Administration.

Nickolas Ovsienko conveyed greetings from presidential envoy to the Central Federal District noting that more dense interaction in the embassy is not carried out with any of the federal agencies and said that the need to maintain the tradition of the Ministry invited to pack the committee chairmen for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations of the subjects County so that they can share their experiences with colleagues.

Deputy envoy identified as the most important task at present moment security during the holiday season, including the monitoring of sales, use and storage of fireworks. "It is also still relevant is the question of disaster management inherent in this time of year. We should not depend on the weather conditions,"- he said.

Deputy minister Alexander Tchupriyan spoke also on current issues in activities of the Ministry in the current year. Concluding meeting, he noted that the dynamics of the central region is positive: "There are fewer people die as a whole in the country - in the fire and on the water. We no longer have to save on the roads, for this we use new technologies, equipments and aircraft. But society lacks a culture of safety; it all starts with this - from family, school, university, society as a whole. General solution to the problem is the revival of volunteering; no civilized country can do anything without it".

Head of the Central Regional Emergency Center of Russia, Alexander Katz presented the main report on the outcome of the territorial sub-unified of state system of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations, the implementation of civil defense, fire safety and the safety of people on the water bodies in the regions of the Central Federal District in 2012 and set goals for next year. Top Russian Emergency Situations Ministry and officials of state authorities of CFD received certificates and gifts.

On the same day in Smolensk near the fire station number 5, on Uritskiy street was opened the renovated monument devoted to regional firemen. At the fire station number 7 on Popov street took place the solemn presentation of special equipment and weapons.
