Velizh and Ugra districts will be gasified

Yesterday in Moscow was held a working meeting of the Governor of Smolensk region Aleksey Ostrovskiy, and Chairman of the Board of OJSC "Gazprom" Aleksey Miller.

The main attention was paid to issues of gas supply. In 2003-2011 "Gazprom" has invested in gasification of the region 1.3 billion roubles. With these funds were constructed seven gas pipelines with a total length of about 120 km. As a result, the average penetration in the region in 2012 increased by 12.1% to 70.5% (the average in Russia this figure is 63.2%). In 2012, "Gazprom" has finished in the region building of two gas pipelines with total length of 37.5 km.

During this meeting were also discussed prospects of gasification of Smolensk region. It was noted that "Gazprom" is designed and being approved draft program of gas supply and distribution area for the period up to 2016. In addition, the company is working on updating of the Master Plan and gas supply, approved in 2007. As part of this work will be determined amount of prospective of natural gas consumption in the 25 districts of Smolensk region, the feasibility of building and how to enter new gas pipelines.

The main solution is beginning, at last, in 2013 of gasification of two districts: Velizh and Ugra"- said Aleksey Ostrowskiy after meeting.
