The results of work of the regional agro-industrial complex

In the cultural and entertainment center "Gubernskiy" representatives of agricultural industry gathered to sum up the results of work of the agro-industrial complex of the Smolensk region for the year 2012.

In his speech Deputy Governor Igor Lyakhov paid attention to the development prospects of the regional agro-industrial sector. The new administration of the region began its work last May. They took some steps which were aimed at preserving and modernizing the sector and led to positive results. In 2012 the development of the agriculture of the region was funded with 1 billion 765 million rubles: 793.4 million rubles from the federal budget, 971.4 million rubles from the regional budget. Agricultural producers raised 2.5 billion rubles of preferential loans for the sector development.

In comparison with the previous years in 2012 the rate of performance growth didn’t decline. All types of agricultural companies produced goods worth 18.5 billion rubles. In 2012 the sales increased by 7% to 4.4 billion rubles. In comparison with 2011 the total volume of grain produced by all types of agricultural companies increased by 5%, of rape - by 11%, of flax - by 83%. Production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight increased by 10%, of milk - by 5%, of eggs - by 9%.

Development of agriculture is directly related to social development and engineering infrastructure of rural areas. In 2012 265 million rubles, including 106 million rubles for constructing or purchasing housing in the rural areas, were allocated for this purpose. Last year 5,200 square meters of housing, including 4,000 square meters for young families and professionals, were built (bought) in the rural areas. 90 people, including 77 young families and professionals, improved their living conditions.

Local producers, whose share in the total procurement amounted to 90%, have become the main suppliers of agricultural products to the social institutions of the Smolensk region.

With the positive credit policy of the state at least 12 investment projects of various scales and agricultural spheres will be initiated for in the Smolensk region.

Agricultural producers will be supported through 17 regional core programs aimed to help promising areas of agro-industrial complex.

In 2012 in the Vyazma area the first non-commercial partnership "Smolensk linen cluster" with a closed structure of production, processing and sales was registered.
