The children’s creativity center “Zvezdniy” was opened in the town of Gagarin

As a part of the celebrations to mark the birthday of the first cosmonaut of the planet the children's creativity center “Zvezdniy” was opened in the town of Gagarin. The building, which is a symbol of consistency between the old town of Gzhatsk and the new town of Gagarin, is built on the bank of the river Gzhat opposite the Annunciation Cathedral.

The "Zvezdniy" center is a complex designed for children and youth to take part in various clubs. There is a lobby, a security post, a cloakroom, a canteen, an art studio, a carpenter's workshop, table tennis facilities, dance and ballet halls, a costume room, showers and toilets on the ground floor. There is a foyer, an assembly hall for 206 people, a stage, artistic and theatrical facilities, a drama club, crafts workshops, sport and tourism clubs, a room for 40 people and technical facilities on the first floor. There is a foyer, an assembly hall, a stage, a projection room, an exhibition hall, different clubs: photo, cinema and video club, space and astronomy club, aviation and marine modeling club, music and humanities culb on the second floor. The third floor houses the planetarium.

The clubs in 10 different activity areas will work in the new children’s center. The well-known dance companies "Sozvezdie" and "Kaleidoscope", which recently took the second prize at the All-Russian dance festival, will practice and perform here. Thus about two thousand children can comfortably take part in different activities in the 17 rooms of the "Zvezdniy" center.

Alexey Ostrovskiy pointed out that the youth organization "Gagarintsy" has been working in the homeland of the first cosmonaut for 15 years and called for all government and community organizations who are interested in developing patriotism to help the young people and their adult leaders. In the new children’s center the new head of the region talked to the members of the youth organization "Gagarintsy" and their mentors.
