The Society of the Disabled regional plenum - "Together we can do more!"

The sports and health complex "Smena" hosted the IV Plenum of Smolensk regional public organization of the All-Russian Society of the Disabled which was attended by Deputy Governor Olga Vasilyeva.

The meeting discussed the results of the board of directors’ work in 2012 and the plan of actions for this year.

Olga Vasilyeva emphasized that solving problems of the people with disabilities, helping them to integrate into the society are among the priorities of the new Administration of the region.

As part of the plenum such issues as the state of medical-social examination of the disabled and its improvement, specifics of providing rehabilitation means for the disabled were discussed. There were also panel discussions on organizing sports rehabilitation, on the impact of the modernization on the regional public health system and medical service of the disabled. At the plenary session it was pointed out that the Administration of region and the Social Development Department of the Smolensk region helped and supported the regional public organization of the All-Russian Society of the Disabled.

Thus the motto of the Society of the Disabled "Together we can do more!" is proved by the close collaboration of the public organization and the Administration of the region.
