Alexey Ostrovskiy’s working visit to Duhovschinsky district

Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy went on a working trip to the Duhovschinsky district during which he visited the major company of the municipality Smolensk State District Power Station - a branch of "E.ON Russia" Inc. located in the Ozerniy settlement.

Alexey Ostrovskiy visited the power station, talked to the management and the staff, listened carefully to the people’s opinion on the current social situation in the region.

Then the head of the region visited a local school where there is a special energy class with in-depth study of a number of subjects - mathematics, physics, computer science and etc. which is supervised by the Smolensk State District Power Station.

The graduates of this class are going to enter the Smolensk branch of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute and other energy universities. In case of conclusion of the contract, the young people can be sure of getting a job at the Smolensk State District Power Station. The classroom is equipped with modern laptops and interactive whiteboard.

The Governor also met with the top managers of "E.ON Russia" Inc. and discussed the key aspects of cooperation with the energy group in the region.

Commenting on the results of the working trip, Alexey Ostrovskiy said that his meeting with the management of the company, which is a part of the major European concern “E.ON”, is very important for the Administration of the region.

"We are interested in the greater presence of the Concern in the Smolensk region, - said the Governor. - We are interested in improving the social security level of the power station employees and their families, in developing the infrastructure of the Ozerniy settlement of the Duhovschinskiy district with the support of “E.ON Russia”. We would like the management of “E.ON” to consider the proposal to jointly use the resources of the company and those of the Smolensk region to create new businesses. We are sure that the Concern will make greater investments in the Smolensk region than it did before the arrival of my administration".
