Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to Russia Wojciech Zajaczkowski.

"I have been working here for less than a year, but I am aware of the issues connected with the Smolensk land in the Russian-Polish bilateral relations, - said Alexey Ostrovskiy during the meeting. - I have been to Poland several times as a member and the committee chairman of the State Duma. I am ready for a most extensive dialogue, ready to answer all your questions".

"Smolensk has a special place in the Polish-Russian relations. I think that its role may be more significant, - said in his turn Wojciech Zajaczkowski. - Speaking of which, I mean not only the issues related to the history. In recent years we have paid attention to the interest of the Polish business community in the Smolensk region. Today there are two Polish companies already working in Vyazma and Gagarin of the Smolensk region. The possibility of building a hotel near Gagarin and logistics centers is being under consideration. In this regard, we would like to collaborate more closely, so that our business people who come to Russia had the opportunity to find out about the economic proposals of the Smolensk region ".

During the meeting the parties discussed the most important issues of the cooperation.
