After the working meeting Alexey Ostrovskiy and Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Petr Rudnik went to the Heroes Memorial Park where they laid flowers at the Eternal Flame.

Next the Action Plan on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological, Humanitarian and Cultural Cooperation between the Smolensk region of the Russian Federation and the Mogilev region of Belarus in 2013 was signed at the Smolensk regional Philharmonic society.

This plan includes the exchange of delegations to study the best practices in the development and support of small and medium-sized businesses, their participation in the annual international forum "Days of Small and Medium-sized Businesses of the Smolensk region," the participation of Belarusian agricultural machinery operators in harvesting fodder in the Smolensk region. The document also provides for assistance in engaging Belarusian organizations and individual entrepreneurs in activities to celebrate the 1150th anniversary of Smolensk, participation of Smolensk performers in the international folklore festival "Friendship Wreath" in Bobruisk, and Mogilev performers in the festival of folk art "Two Russias - two Sisters" in Khislavichi and other activities.

Talking to the media the Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee emphasized the continuing improvement of economic performance in the cooperation between the two regions: "In 2012 the trade turnover between Smolensk and Mogilev regions grew by 20.5% and exceeded 180 million USA dollars, in 2013 we plan to raise this figure to 300 million”, - said Petr Rudnik.

In his turn Alexey Ostrovskiy pointed out that these plans must be put into practice: "We are interested in a dialogue and substantive work that will guarantee that the agreements we have signed won’t remain only on paper and will result in joint products. At the same time I, as the Head of the region, will support Smolensk farmers so that our products could compete with Belarusian ones".

At the end of the event there was a concert dedicated to the people of Russia and Belarus.
