The closing ceremony of "Museum Marathon - 2013"

On April, 24 the entertainment center "Gubernskiy" hosted the closing ceremony of the city quest-game "Museum Marathon - 2013" dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the regional center and the 125th anniversary of the Smolensk Museum.

"Museum Marathon" held in Smolensk for the first time began on March, 20. 16 teams (over 200 participants) from 15 Smolensk schools took part in it. The game was held in three stages and included several routes covering the exhibitions of the Smolensk Museum and the historical and cultural sites of the city: streets, monuments, memorial plaques. At each stage of the game the teams earned points, making an unforgettable journey through the old Smolensk in search of the mysteries of the ancient buildings and museum "treasures" and working on the project "The Museum of My Dreams" to be presented afterwards.

Everybody looked forward to hearing the winners’ name, awarding the first prize - the challenge cup "Museum Marathon", the top prize from the Culture and Tourism Department of the Smolensk region, as well as diplomas, certificates and souvenirs.

Head of the Department Vladislav Kononov welcomed the participants of the marathon and then opened the envelope containing the name of the winning team of the museum marathon.

Next the participating teams presented their museum projects "The Museum of my Dreams" which were remarkably diverse, informative, original and creative.

Almost all the teams were winners in the numerous nominations of the quest-game. Nobody left without prizes and diplomas.
