The Victory Parade in Smolensk

The parade of the Smolensk garrison troops, dedicated the 68th anniversary of the Great Victory, took place in Lenin Square.

The students of the Marshal Vasilevsky Army Air Defense Military Academy, the troops of "Mercury” detachment of the Russian Ministry of Interior, the staff of the Federal Penitentiary Agency of the Smolensk region, the students of the military cadet school named after Field-Marshal Kutuzov participated in the parade.

They were followed by the column of 24 units of military equipment, including anti-aircraft missiles "OSA" and "TOP", the latest automated control system "Kasatelnaya", salute machines and etc.

The parade was viewed by Head of Smolensk territorial garrison Colonel Alexander Davydov, and it was commanded by Deputy Head of the Army Air Defense Military Academy for Academic Affairs and Research Colonel Oleg Vasilchenko. Musical accompaniment for the parade was traditionally provided by the consolidated orchestra of the Smolensk garrison.

At the conclusion of the ceremonial march Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy thanked the commanders of the military units that participated in the parade.
