The Grand Reception for Veterans

On May, 9, the Victory Day, Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy took park in the grand reception in honor of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

"I am very happy to congratulate and thank you personally, - the Governor addressed the defenders of the Fatherland. - We are in great debt to you. That fact is that we, the authority, unfortunately have not paid back even a half of that debt yet, and I express my apology for this to you. I would like to tell you that every day I try to make at least something to improve your life here in the Smolensk region. In our region I initiated the work of the social taxi, which not every region has. Veterans and invalids of the Great Patriotic War can use its services, some of them free of charge. We try to do something to please you, and every day we will try to do it more and more. Thank you, dear veterans! My congratulations on the Victory Day! ".
