Celebrating healthcare professionals of Smolensk

Just before the Healthcare Professionals Day the Administration of the Smolensk region hosted the award ceremony for the healthcare professionals of the region. Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy congratulated the participants on their professional holiday.

In his welcoming speech, the head of the region thanked all healthcare professionals for their work which saves thousands of lives every day. "On this day, I once again would like to most cordially thank you for your hard work. It is hard work because you, in this or that way, face human pain. You also work in difficult conditions. I know that from those working trips I made for eight years of being a member of the State Duma from the Smolensk region", - said Alexey Ostrovskiy.

The governor also told the participants of the ceremony about the work which is being done by the Administration of Smolensk region in accordance with Order of the President of the Russian Federation of May 7, 2012, № 597 "On measures for the implementation of state social policy." According to the document by 2018 the salary of social workers at healthcare intuitions, healthcare personnel of primary and secondary level in the Smolensk region must grow up to the average salary in the region. The salary of healthcare professionals with higher education degree and providing healthcare service should be twice as much as the average salary in the region.

At the ceremony Alexey Ostrovskiy awarded badges "Honor Healthcare Professional", Certificates of Appreciation from the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and the Administration of the Smolensk region, Letters of Appreciation from the Governor to the best representatives of the healthcare sector of the region.
