Smolensk Youth gathered at the "Architecture of talent"

More than two hundred school students from all the districts of the Smolensk region are participating in the Summer Technical School for Talented Youth "Architecture of talent", which is taking place at the tourist complex "Sokoliya Gora". Last Saturday there was an opening ceremony.

Summer Technical School "Architecture of talent" is an innovative form of identifying, selecting, developing and supporting young people with great academic achievements and motivation to get engineering and technical degrees. The camp is being held in the framework of the long-term regional target program "Organizing rest and health improvement for the children living on the territory of the Smolensk region" for 2013-2015 and the target program "Development of Youth Policy in the Smolensk region" for 2012-2014 years. More than 3.5 million rubles are allocated from the federal and regional budgets to organize the Summer Technical School.

The organizers of the camp are the Board of Directors of the Educational Institutions of Secondary Vocational Education of the Smolensk region and the Smolensk Industrial and Economic College. The specialized camp is supported by the regional association of employers "Scientific and Industrial Association" and the Smolensk Regional Institute of Education Development.

The main purpose of the camp for talented youth is developing school students’ interest in technical studies, helping them to form their own learning program in the institutions of secondary vocational education in the region.

Before the final day of the Summer School the young people will get career and educational counseling, which involves helping them to identify their self-development abilities and opportunities for professional development. In addition, within the camp framework Smolensk young people have a unique opportunity to experience a specific educational environment favorable for personal development.

This year among the 220 people participating in the Camp at "Sokoliya Gora" there are 70 teenagers in a difficult life situation, and 40 children who are students of Safonov Boarding school for orphans and children without parental care. The number of secondary school and lyceum students selected during the "Summer Technical School AT 2013" was 110 people.
