Celebrating the teachers of Smolensk region

The concert hall of the Culture and Entertainment center "Gubernskiy" hosted the meeting dedicated to the Teachers’ Day. Deputy Governor Nikolai Kuznetsov warmly greeted the veterans of teaching, heads and education professionals of pre-school, general, supplementary, primary and higher educational institutions who gathered just before their professional holiday.

"Dear teachers! There are basic things, the foundations that will never go away from the sphere of teaching, - said the Vice-Governor. – A true teacher will always remain a wise mentor, the first pillar in life for his maturing pupils. It would be great if good traditions of teaching in Russian spread onto the new generations of teachers, if teaching profession were always in greatly respected. There is no doubt that the Administration of the region will fulfill the obligations associated with gradual increase of payment to the teaching staff. I would like to wish all the teachers of Smolensk region success, and confidence that choosing a teaching profession was the right choice. This, in turn, should give you confidence when working with students."

The speakers stressed that without daily work of teachers there wouldn’t be any new doctors or engineers or managers, or scientists. Love for children, high qualification, experience and talent of the teacher are the wonderful qualities characteristic of teachers of Smolensk region. Their devotion, tireless work and constant creative search are the foundations of tomorrow. It is teachers who the level of education and spirituality of the younger generation depends on. And though the realities of today have changed a lot - computerization of the educational process, learning via the Internet - these are just tools. The supreme goal of the teacher remains the same - to develop a person capable of making independent decisions.

Deputy Governor Nikolai Kuznetsov cordially thanked the teachers for their important work and took part in the ceremony of awarding veterans of teaching, heads of educational institutions of the region and the teachers who have achieved excellent results in teaching, became the best teachers of Smolensk region within the national priority project "Education" and deserved public recognition.
