The Day of National Cultures in Smolensk - in peace and harmony

On the eve of the Fourth of November the City Culture Hall "Sharm" hosted the traditional for Smolensk regional festival - the Day of National Cultures.

The festive event was held on the initiative of the Association "National Congress of Smolensk region", the Public Chamber of Smolensk region, as well as with the support of the Administrations of Smolensk region and the city of Smolensk.

The representatives of the diaspora living in Smolensk region in peace and harmony were warmly greeted by the Head of the Culture and Tourism Department of Smolensk region Vladislav Kononov: "On behalf of Governor of Smolensk region Alexey Vladimirovich Ostrovskiy I would like to congratulate you on the coming holiday of the Day of National Unity and on today's holiday. We are all different, but we live in the same house. To live in peace and harmony with each other is the most important thing. This is the key to success and prosperity of the city, region and country. It is very remarkable that today's event takes place on the eve of the Day of National Unity. It is a young national holiday, but it has a very important deep meaning".

The event turned out interesting and memorable. In the lobby there was a colorful exhibition of fine arts and crafts of the public ethnic organizations of Smolensk. In addition, each diaspora presented their national dishes, and in the concert hall there was a concert featuring performances of ethnic diasporas’ art groups.
