The Smolensk police officers celebrate their professional holiday

On the eve of the Day of the Interior Affairs professional the Smolensk Drama Theatre named after A.S. Griboedov hosted the celebration of the Smolensk police officers. The ceremony was attended by Acting Governor Mikhail Pitkevich.

Addressing the audience, Mikhail Pitkevich expressed to the staff of the Head Department of the Internal Affairs Ministry of Russia in Smolensk region his sincere gratitude for their hard daily work, diligent service and readiness for self-sacrifice.

He also said that thanks to the professionalism of the policemen, a number of major events of this year - the election campaign to Smolensk regional Duma, the celebration of the 1150th anniversary of Smolensk – were held at a high organizational level. The staff of the department provided the proper protection of public order, the comfort atmosphere for the visitors and residents of the city during the events.

Mikhail Pitkevich assured the staff of the regional bodies of internal affairs, that the Administration of Smolensk region will always help and support them in their hard work.
