The regional scholarship named after Prince of Smolensk Roman Rostislavovich for the distinguished youths

The Culture and Exhibition Center named after the Tenishevs hosted the ceremony of awarding certificates to the Prince of Smolensk Roman Rostislavovich fellows. They were awarded by Deputy Governor - Head of the Administrative office of Smolensk regional Administration Lev Platonov.

On behalf of Head of the Region Alexey Ostrovskiy the Deputy Governor welcomed thirty school and university students who showed special ability in mastering the curriculum. Lev Platonov noted that this remarkable event takes place on the eve of the great national celebration - the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of the Russian Federation. On December 12, 1993 at the national referendum the citizens of Russia approved the main law of our country. The human rights and freedoms, among which there is the right to education, are listed as the greatest values in it. And this right should be fully used.

The Administration of Smolensk region established the regional scholarship named after Prince of Smolensk Roman Rostislavovich in order to provide material support for the gifted youth of Smolensk region and to distinguish the full-time students of the state institutions of higher education, primary and secondary vocational education, school students who have showed special ability in mastering the curriculum.

The scholarship is awarded by the resolution of the Administration of Smolensk region for one academic year to:

- Students of the state educational institutions of higher education, who have fully complied with the requirements of the curriculum, received only excellent grades in the last two semesters, showed special ability in research work (5 scholarships);

- Students of the state educational institutions of secondary vocational education, who have fully complied with the requirements of the curriculum, received only excellent grades in the last two semesters, achieving results, demonstrated special ability in scientific and practical work (10 scholarships);

- Students of educational institutions, particularly distinguished academically, winners of international, national, inter-regional and regional academic competitions (15 scholarships ).

The regional scholarship does not negate the state scholarship. The scholarship since 2013 has amounted to 740 rubles.
