Smolensk region celebrated the best doctors and nurses

The Administration of the region hosted the award ceremony for the winners and participants of the competition "The Best Doctor" and "The Best Nurse" in 2013.

The competitions among doctors and nurses have been held in Smolensk region since 2006 in the framework of the departmental target program "Improving the staffing of the regional public health institutions".

This year 28 specialists from 18 institutions of the region competed for “The Best Doctor” title. According to the results of the regional stage, 13 specialists, whose works were sent to the All-Russia competition of doctors, became the winners in 12 categories.

The Main Competition Committee gave the second prize in the category "Best Anaesthesiologist-Emergency physician" in Russia to Anaesthetist-Emergency physician of the emergency room and intensive care Regional State health care institution "Rudnyanskaya Central District Hospital" Irina Labushkina.

52 healthcare professionals from 37 healthcare institutions took part in the competition for the title of "The Best Nurse in 2013", which was held in 6 categories. At the final stage the jury, which consisted of the Head and representatives of the Healthcare Department of Smolensk region, the Chairman of Smolensk regional public organization "Medical Chamber", representatives of the Smolensk Medical College, chose 16 winners. Their works were sent to the regional stage of the competition, at which in the Central Federal District the representatives from Smolensk received six prizes in various categories. Now the winners are competing for the first prize at the federal stage, which will be concluded in the first quarter of the next year.

Head of the Healthcare Department of Smolensk region Vladimir Stepchenkov congratulated the winners on the well-deserved victory and awarded the diplomas to the winners and participants of the competition. The winners also received prizes.
