The reception of residents on the Constitution Day

The biggest reception of residents was held in Smolensk region on December 12, the day of the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Basic Law - the Constitution of the Russian Federation. Fulfilling the order of the President of Russia, the heads of executive authorities of the region and municipalities, federal agencies, located on the territory of Smolensk region, since 12 o’clock (Moscow time) answered questions of the Smolensk residents and tried to find the best solutions to the most essential problems.

In the absence of Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy, who on that day was in Moscow at the Russian President's annual address to the Federal Assembly, the residents were received by Deputy Governor – Head of the Administrative office of the Regional Administration Lev Platonov in the public reception area of the Administration of the region. If necessary the residents could address the relevant state and municipal authorities through video conferencing. To solve some of the problems on the spot, the interdepartmental communication and cooperation were established, which allowed to specify the necessary information online and to sort out the controversial issues with the help of the responsible officials.

On the territory of Smolensk region there were more than a thousand places for the reception of residents, covering rural settlements, urban and municipal districts. The gained experience in preparing and carrying out the All-Russia Reception Day will be a great help in organizing similar events in the future, as in accordance with the instructions of the President they will now be held annually.
