The Regional New Year tree

The Smolensk Drama Theatre named after A.S. Griboyedov on the eve of the New Year holidays hosted the traditional regional New Year tree, organized by the regional Administration.

Head of Smolensk region on Social Development Yulia Novikova congratulated boys and girls and their parents, and grandparents on the coming New Year: "Dear children, dear adults! In anticipation of the most beautiful and fantastic holiday, on behalf of the Governor of Smolensk region Alexey Vladimirovich Ostrovskiy, the Administration, the Social Development Department of Smolensk region “I wish you a Happy New Year! May you be healthy and happy, may all your dreams come true, may only the best happen in your life. Have a happy holiday season!".

More than 800 children from different districts of Smolensk region took part in the celebration. The inmates of boarding and rehabilitation centers, children from low-income families, children with disabilities - all those who need special care and guardianship were invited to the main New Year celebration of the region.

The children got wonderful New Year gifts - sweets and specially organized activities. In the foyer of the theater the kids could take part in the performance featuring Grandfather Frost and Snegurochka, the characters of their favorite cartoons and in numerous active games. The musical tale "Ali Baba", which was performed by the creative team of the Drama Theater, generously filled the young spectators with the festive spirit.
