The results of the IT- conference and the regional competition "Information Technology in Education"

The Administration of Smolensk region hosted the closing ceremony of the seventh inter-regional scientific - practical conference "Information and Communication Technology in Regional Development" during which the IT- specialists from Russia and Belarus discussed the most pressing issues of the industry. During the closing ceremony the participants and winners of the annual regional competition "Information Technology in Education" were announced.

The participants called the results the conference very productive. For two days there were meetings and panel discussions dedicated to the issues of public and municipal electronic services, information security, implementation of the "Open Government ", operation of the regional collective security information system based on GLONASS, use of ICT in the healthcare, culture and education. After the forum it is planned to publish the collection of materials.

The Deputy Governor of Smolensk region Nikolai Kuznetsov noted that it is especially pleasant to see at the closing ceremony a lot of young people - the future experts in the promotion of information technology in various spheres of life.

Many school and university students of the region presented their projects while participating in the regional annual competition "Information Technologies in Education". It was held in two categories: "The best individual creative projects" and "The best information environment in general and pre-school educational institutions".

There were 76 applications to participate in the competition. For the outstanding achievements in introducing computer and telecommunication technologies in the educational process, as well as especially interesting the winners received diplomas and gifts from the sponsors of the conference.
