Alexey Ostrovskiy visited the Foundry and Rolling Plant in Yartsevo

Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy visited the largest enterprise in the Yartsevsky district SUE "Foundry and Rolling Plant".

Today, on April 11, the millionth ton of rolled products has been produced. Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy came to congratulate the staff of the enterprise, the duty shifts of the electro-steelmaking and section rolling shops on this event.

The company, which is in fact a city-forming one for Yartsevo, has experienced its ups and downs. Another life of the foundry and rolling plant began with the Moscow Government Decree of 17 June 2003 "On the Establishment of the State Unitary Enterprise "Foundry and Rolling Plant", when the Moscow Government took over the production based in the Yartsevsky district. In March 2009, the updated rolling mill started to operate, in November of 2010 there was an anniversary fusion: half a million tons of steel were produced. By this time, the volume of production had grown to 21 thousand tons of steel per month with a design capacity of 18,700 tons. However, the next few years for various reasons were the most difficult ones for the enterprise. In 2011, the factory was on the verge of bankruptcy with a huge financial debt and many hilly skilled workers were short of work.

In June 2011, the new Director General Denis Novozhenov initiated the development of the anti-crisis measures, which, according to the specialists of the enterprise, in a relatively short period of time allowed to refuse the inefficient supply and sales schemes. There were also some improvements in the management structure. As a result, in 2013 the maximum production level in the history of the foundry and rolling plant was achieved: 234,000 tons of continuous cast billets, 221,000 tons of rolled steel.

In March, 2014 a record amount of production in the history of the enterprise was released. The management of the plant stresses that it is not only the production volume which is increasing, but also the quality of produce is improving and the range of products is expanding. Now at the three profiles of reinforcement rods are rolled, new kinds of products are designed. In January and February the rolling of reinforcement rods with strength class At800, At1000, used to produce so-called stressed concrete structures, was launched. Reinforcement rod rolling process has been tested and certified.
