The humanitarian aid has been delivered from Smolensk to the Crimea

The humanitarian aid from the Smolensk residents for institutions, organizations and residents of the Crimea arrived at the destination on April, 25 and was handed to the chairman of the Association of Medical Professionals of the Republic Alexander Astakhov. The aid was comprised of medicines, medical equipment and food products, which four days ago were shipped from the central square of Smolensk in the heavy trucks provided by the Russian Emergencies Ministry.

The money to help the people of the Crimea was raised on the initiative of the Smolensk regional public organization of veterans (pensioners) of war, military and law enforcement agencies and veteran workers, which was supported by Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy. Employees of Smolensk companies and organizations, residents of Smolensk took part in this charity event. In total, kind hearted Smolensk residents sent to the bank account of the organization more than six million rubles. The raised money together with the efforts of companies, organizations and authorities of the region allowed to ship the two trucks of medicines and medical equipment for the sum over 4 million rubles (of them donated medicines for the sum of 800,000 rubles). 18 tons of food products (for the sum of 600 thousand rubles), mainly pasta, cereals, canned goods, flour, vegetable oil, sugar, dried and condensed milk produced in the region, were also donated.

The humanitarian aid from the Smolensk people delivered today to the Crimea will be used in the cancer clinic in Simferopol, in the hospital for World War II veterans, maternity clinics and universal city clinic.
