Alexey Ostrovskiy got acquainted with the promising projects of the participants of the Summer School of Research and Education "Lift to the Future"

The Tenishevs Culture and Exhibition Centre hosted the "Junior-EXPO" exhibition dedicated to the technology projects on the development of the region presented by the participants of the Summer School of Research and Education of the All-Russian program "Lift to the future".

Young "scientists’” achievements were praised by Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy. The guest of honor at the exhibition was the representative of the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre, pilot-cosmonaut, Hero of Russia, Alexander Lazutkin.

The All-Russian program "Lift to the Future" has been implemented by the Charity Foundation "Sistema" since 2011 in order to support talented children and youth who are to make up the “talent pool” for Russian hi-tech companies.

This year there were 750 students from 66 regions of the country participating in the program. The teams from the ten regions of the Central Federal District, including Smolensk region, received training at the Summer school of Research and Education.

From June, 1 to June, 18 the Summer School was held for the first 150 winners of the annual All-Russian competition of the regional school projects "Priority System" at the children's health camp "Smena" in the Krasny Bor. For the two weeks the participants of the Smolensk Summer School "Lift to the Future" conducted a series of research and experiments, studied robotics and microbiology, received new transport modeling experience under the guidance of the trainers and mentors from the leading universities of the country, as well as with the support of the specialists from the Russian high-tech companies. Besides, the high school students designed innovative projects on the development of Smolensk region.

There were three main sections: space industry, ecology and natural resources, transportation.

In the Space Industry section the young people presented the projects on the development of commercial space exploration, space engineering and lunar program. In the Ecology and Natural Resources section the participants together with their mentors presented the project on creating a cluster of organic land development in Smolensk region on the basis of the National Park "Smolensk Lake district" and the project of the certified center to support agricultural companies in the region.

In the Transport section the project on modernizing the transport system in Smolensk region was presented. In particular, the participants talked about the reconstruction of shipping traffic on the Dnieper, creating an innovative logistics center in Smolensk, as well as about developing production process at the Smolensk Aviation Plant, implementing the Maglev freight transport technology in the region and innovative technology in the production of carriages.

There were 21 projects in total presented by the participants of the Summer School of Research and Education "Lift to the Future". Governor Alexey Ostrovskiy studied these projects with great interest.
